HELP THE PEOPLE OF MADEIRA AFFECTED BY THE STORM

Since the storm of 20th February we have been contacted by many customers asking how they can help the people of Madeira most affected by this last storm. We have created a fund to show solidarity.

All customers purchasing products at the Old Blandy Wine Lodge and at the airport's duty-free shop are being invited to contribute on a voluntary basis to this fund. For each donation given, we will match it with an equal contribution. The money raised will be paid in equal parts to the local delegation of the Portuguese Red Cross and to the local Caritas organization, a well known Portuguese NGO. Both have programs in place to directly help those families worts affected by the storms.

The immediate and visible effects of the disaster will soon be cleared-up however the damage suffered by the families affected will take a while longer! We hope that with a little help from all of us and in addition to the work being undertaken by the local authorities, these scars will soon start to heal.
